What is a Primary Source?

A primary source is a first-hand account of an event or topic. A first-hand account is a document that was created by someone who was around during the time the event or topic took place. 

What are examples of primary sources?

2. An official government report, document, or ruling.

5. creative works such as a novel, play, poem, music lyrics
